Stuart Philip Suffern, age 60 a native of Metairie, LA and a resident of Diamondhead, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward T. Suffern, Sr. and Gladys Brennan Suffern; sister, Anne Suffern Bernard; and grandnephew, Timothy “Tripp” Verret Burns, III.
Stuart is survived by his wife of 29 years, Diana Dubus Suffern; children, Stuart Philip Suffern Jr. “Skip” and Sharon Elizabeth Suffern; siblings, Edward T. Suffern, Jr. (Patricia Hand Suffern), Patrick W. Suffern (Monique Morvant Suffern), Laura Suffern Burns (Timothy V. Burns), James B. Suffern (Kathryn Seymour Suffern), Meehan Suffern Murphy (Michael Murphy), and Matthew R. Suffern (Theresa Johnston Suffern); seven nephews; 5 nieces; and 1 grandnephew.
He enjoyed coaching recreational soccer and managed the CSC and St. Thomas More girls’ soccer teams. Stuart was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, KOC Financial Secretary, Eucharistic Minister and Eucharistic Minister Coordinator at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, CCD Teacher, helped with Bingo, Quad Participant, Crusillo #274 and was a member of the LSU Phi Kappa Theta, Chi Iota Chapter. He was a longtime employee of Dupre Transportation and worked at New Orleans Cold Storage and Lineage Logistics.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
