Battalion Chief Steve L. Doukas, Gulfport FD, Ret, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away on April 26, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Henry Smith and Basil Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Leonard Doukas, his children, Cyndi (Terry) O'Mar, Freddy Doukas, Nick (Heather Jones) Doukas, and Keith (Tammy) Lee, 2 brothers, Jack Doukas, and John (Janice) Doukas, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Pauline Leonard, and Jewel Leonard, former wife and close friend, Barbara Sigworth, his beloved puppy ""Moffy"", nieces, nephews, and several other relatives and friends.
Mr. Doukas was a lifelong resident and enjoyed being a resident of the coast and retired from the Gulfport Fire Department as a Battalion Chief. He served in the Army National Guard and later owned and operated Doukas Blue Ribbon Tires. He was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 11 am - 1 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery with honors from the Gulfport Fire Department.
