Stephenie Walker "Stevie" English
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Stephenie English, who went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 22, 2024, at the tender age of 16.
Stevie was born on January 24, 2008 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as a 6 lb. 8 oz. blonde curly headed blue eyed beautiful child. In describing Stevie, the first and foremost thing was that she was a born again Christian having taken Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and baptized with her family on July 30, 2023. The only thing bigger than that beautiful full face smile was her tender heart that eventually grew much larger than her body. Stevie was a force of nature. She had a work ethic at 16 that would rival any grown man. She believed in shooting for nothing but the net. Stevie was soft, and she was fragile. She loved everyone and wanted to be loved. If she could have only seen herself through the eyes of those who truly loved her. Take a stand. Speak up for and to someone who is being bullied and ridiculed. Be kind. Don't let this happen again.
Stephenie was a bright and shining light to all who knew her. Her radiant countenance lit up every room she entered, bringing joy and love to her family, friends, and everyone around her. She was a dedicated student, an overachiever in school, who excelled academically with passion and determination. Her love for learning and excellence inspired all who had the privilege to know her.
She had a deep love for softball, where she poured her heart into every game, and for the arts, expressing her creativity with a spirit that reflected her vibrant personality. Her talents, energy, and enthusiasm for life touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact.
Stephenie will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by her presence. While her time with us was far too brief, her legacy of love, kindness, and grace will live on in our hearts forever.
Stevie is survived by her mother, Tonya Normand; her father, Jason Walker English, sister Samantha English, brother, Shelby English, all from the Mississippi Gulf Coast area. Stevie leaves behind a great grandmother, Mary Lou Walker. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Steve and Ginny Walker English (From both of whom she was named); uncle and aunt, Jonathan and Sarah English; uncle, Meldric Normand Jr.; cousins, Baylea, Maddison, Riley, and Carley. She had several great aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as a loving support between her church family at First Baptist Church, Long Beach, and her upper leadership at her JROTC program in which she excelled. All of whom will miss her forever, but carry her full heart on with us.
