Stanley Mark Partridge, 55, of Long Beach died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Visitation will be from 4:30 - 6:30 Wednesday, July 6, 2011 with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at Michael Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport with Pastor Tony Karnes officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Eastover Cemetery in Oxford.
Stan was born on May 30, 1956, in Ohio to Margaret and Ronald Partridge. After moving to Mississippi, he graduated from Oxford High School. He earned a bachelors degree in math education from Delta State University in Cleveland, where he also played baseball for Coach David ""Boo"" Ferriss.
Stan was a life-long educator who began his career teaching math, coaching baseball, and eventually becoming an administrator. He recently retired from the Biloxi School District, where he worked as an assistant principal at Biloxi High School. He was an active member of Michael Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport. Throughout his time at the church, he worked with the youth group, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served as the head of the missions committee, was an Elder and served on mission trips to Brazil and Arizona.
Stan was passionate about teaching and providing encouragement in any way that he could. He was the biggest cheerleader for every person he knew, always believing they could accomplish whatever they set out to. He was actively involved in all the student activities at Biloxi High School, from sporting events to field trips and pep rallies. At the church, Stan's passion was in missions and he was always ready and willing to help out those in need. He loved baseball, trivia, maps and puns, in addition to spending time with his family.
Stan was preceded in death by his mother Margaret and his father Dr. Ron Partridge.
He is survived by: his wife of 13 years Sandy Partridge of Long Beach; two sons, Jonathan Partridge of Ocean Springs and Sam Tucker of Long Beach; two daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Reiser of Ocean Springs and Kaitlyn Tucker of Oxford; sister, Susan (David) Shaw of Oxford; brother, Steve Partridge of Dallas, Texas; Linda Partridge of Oxford; Ashley Daniels of Oxford and Allison (Steve) McCord of Batesville 8 nieces, nephews and great nieces; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
