Stanaforth "Stan" Louis Bentz, Jr, age 93 of Long Beach, was born October 16, 1927 and left to be with the Lord on April 6, 2021. Stan was a loving husband to his beautiful wife, Betty. He was also an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Stan served in the United States Navy from 06/11/1945 - 07/19/1946. After fulfilling his duties to our country, he joined Electrical Union #903 where he would later retire.
Stan was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church (Long Beach, MS). Stan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved going to the river, playing the harmonica, and loved listening to Christmas music all year round. He was always available to help anyone in need. Stan had a contagious smile and laugh. He was kind, genuine, loving, never met a stranger, and always made you feel right at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanaforth L. and Elvira (Sellier) Bentz, Sr.; a brother, Raymond (Ruby) Bentz; a sister, Gloria (Charles) Hophan; and a grandson, Donald Louis Bentz.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Betty (Malley) Bentz; his children, Wayne (Tammie) Bentz and Kenny Bentz; siblings, Leonard (Helen) Bentz Sr. and Shirley (Maynard) O'Hara; In-Laws, Ned Malley Sr., Linda (Mike) Williams, and Paul Kopf; grandchildren, Mindy (Eric) Lee, Benjamin (Amanda) Bentz, Aaron (Jenny) Bentz, Bethany (Daniel)Yates; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Collin Lee, Sarina Husley, Grayson and Avery Werner, Brycin and Cameron Bentz; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2021, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Beach Blvd E, Long Beach, MS, with the visitation for family and friends starting at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
