Stacey Lynn Weatherly, age 45 of Gulfport, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, Barbara Avera; her maternal grandparents, John W. Avera, Sr. and Emily C. Avera; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Helen Weatherly; and her nephew, Eli Weatherly.
Stacey is survived by her son, John Russell Weatherly, US Marine of Camp Pendleton, San Diego, CA; her parents, Dorothy Mercer Avera and Harold Weatherly, Sr.; her brothers, Harold (Amy Winkle) Weatherly, Jr., and William Russell (Bridget Ladner) Weatherly; his nieces and nephews, Faith and Cooper Weatherly, Pierce Weatherly, Grace Olivia Weatherly, and Amelia Weatherly; and her faithful service dog, Caleb.
After graduating from Harrison Central High School, she attended Perkinston Jr. College, Jeff Davis Jr. College, and Chris' Beauty College. Stacey worked as a cashier at both Copa Casino and Silver Slipper Casino.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her caregiver, Jeanette Wells; along with many thanks to the nurses on the second floor ICU unit, and to her special nurse and friend, Jack; also to the staff at Memorial Hospital that gave loving care to Stacey. Also to her special doctors she loved very much, Dr. Hightower, Dr. Altman, and Dr. Gene Cathey.
A service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018, at 11:00am, at Bel Aire Baptist Church, Gulfport.
