Sonia Vay Allen LaFata, age 76 and a resident of Amsterdam, NY, died on Friday, June 27, 2008, in Amsterdam.
Mrs. LaFata was a native of Pass Christian and a member of North Long Beach Baptist Church.
Mrs. LaFata is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie & Flora Cuevas Allen. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Francis Paul LaFata; her children, Paul LaFata, Mike LaFata, Scott LaFata, Bruce LaFata, Kurt LaFata, and Lisa LaFata Dowl; her sister, Doris Moreno and eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 10:30am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
