Sidney "Sid" Sison

Sidney “Sid” Ray Sison, age 84 of Saucier, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florencio and Virginia Sison; his brother, Ted Sison; and his grandson, Micah Sison.

Sid is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Sison; his children, Stephanie (Billy) Brewer, Cyndi (Lowry) Hamner, Michael (Renee) Sison, William (Diane) Sison and Lynda Roberts; son-in-law, Jody Hamner; his siblings, Mary Todd, Florencio “Junior” Sison, Jenny Ladner, Jerry Sison, Brenda Sison, Karol Sanderson, Karen Toman, and Rubin Sison; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Gulfport, Sid was one of ten children. After school, he joined the US Army and is considered an Atomic War Veteran. Following his service in the US Army, he worked as a long shoreman for 10 years. After a decade, he would change careers to manage Hammett’s Auto Electrical Business for 30 years. Sid holds five world records for weightlifting as a senior. He never met a stranger and would often share his unwavering love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, with those he would meet. His devotion to his wife led to them sharing 65 wonderful years together, and they just celebrated their 65th anniversary on January 31.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Northwood Church, 14281 Oneal Road, Gulfport, MS, with visitation for friends beginning at 8:30 am in the church. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
