Sidney Ronald Dobson, 74, of Pass Christian, passed away Thursday October 25, 2018.
Born on August 12, 1944 in Raiford Florida, Sid served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before he retired as a Master Sergeant. He served as a weapons armorer during the Vietnam War and ended his career as a radar electronic technician. He was stationed overseas in Thailand and Panama, along with several different duty stations stateside.
Following his military career, Sid worked in security for over 20 years. First for DuPont as head of security and then with the Department of Homeland Security (TSA) as a security screener. During his free time, Sid enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome from coast to coast. They also traveled from the United States, through Mexico to the Panama Canal, visiting every country in Central America. He also had a passion for gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his family
.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irie and Edith Louise Hollingsworth Dobson; son, Scott Richter.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda June Dobson; his three sons, Mike Richter (Lori), Scot Dobson (Debbie), and David Dobson (Sherry); two siblings, Glenda Dobson Snyder, and Donald Dobson; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Jude, Caitlin, Chaise, Sydney, Cory, Dennis, Alicia; and six great grandchildren, Avery, Donavin, Braylinn, Braydon, Aiden, Bently.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. on the beach, across from the Biloxi Lighthouse, 1050 Beach Blvd. Biloxi.
