Sidney Cullifer

June 21, 1941 — March 27, 2008

Sidney Cullifer, 66, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 27, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Cullifer, Sr and Evelyn Cullifer, of Gulfport and his brother, Roy Cullifer.
He is survived by his children, Sidney Cullifer III (Trey) and wife, Stephanie, of Diamondhead, Chantele Lee and her husband, Jay, of Biloxi and Chase Cullifer of Pass Christian; his sister, Kay Gunter and husband, Baker, of Gulfport; and his grandchildren, Hayley, Regan, and Madison.
He was born on June 21, 1941 in Gulfport. Sidney was a graduate of McComb High School in 1959 where he earned numerous letters in football, track and basketball. He graduated from Mississippi State in 1963 where he played basketball and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Sidney returned to the Coast in 1963 and began his career as a Real Estate Appraiser. He was President of the Gulfport Board of Realtors in 1974 and received the Realtor of the Year award that year. He will be missed greatly by his colleagues, friends and family.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff at Garden Park ICU.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church in Gulfport at 1:00 PM where friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
