Shirley Evans Vallery, born May 7, 1928 was a devoted wife for many years and loving mother to four boys. She passed away on April 14, 2019 in Kiln, MS. She was deeply loved by all and a loyal friend to anyone who knew her throughout her life.
She was born and raised in New Orleans with a younger sister and brother, and spent her early years living next to St. Vincent de Paul's Infant Asylum, helping the sisters oversee children in the play yard and saying prayers with them at bedtime each day after school. Clearly this early experience influenced her convictions for instilling the bond of family that her four sons have always shared.
She was married to Jules Vallery, now deceased, and is survived by her sister, Emma Gene Schick; her brother, Alymer Eugene Evans; four sons, Stephen, Mark, Kirk and Jerry Vallery; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Pass Christian. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans.
