Shirley Mae LaFontaine Schmidt, age 83, of Pass Christian, passed away on July 1, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph J. Schmidt, Sr, and infant son, Rudolph Schmidt, Jr., her parents, James ""Jimmy"" and Frances LaFontaine, 2 brothers, Edward ""Peter"" LaFontaine and Robert LaFontaine.
Survivors include her children, Connie (Glen) Strong, Deborah (Donald) Williams, Michael Schmidt, and Perry (Natalie) Schmidt, Sr., 2 brothers, Earl LaFontaine and Danny LaFontaine, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
She retired after 30 years as the cook from Triplett-Day Drugs and in 1998, she was given the key to the City of Gulfport on ""Shirley Schmidt Day.""
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 9 - 11 am at the St. Paul Chapel, Scenic Dr., Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bay St. Louis.
