Shirley Rose Stewart, 86, of the Success Community in Saucier, MS, passed away December 20, 2022. She was born in Biloxi, MS on February 20, 1936.
Shirley was a homemaker for most of her life and she loved taking care of those that she loved. She loved to cook, grow a garden and tend to her yard. Shirley also had a knack for re-doing antique furniture and she took great joy in reviving old pieces for family and friends. Most of all Shirley loved her family and she treasured the time she spent with them.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles "Sonny" Stewart; her son, Charles Dwayne Stewart; her parents, Mae & Braxton Stanley; her brother, Ray Gavin; and her sister, Joan Hughes.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Firth, of Biloxi; her granddaughter, Jessica Leigh King and her husband, Scott; her great-granddaughter, Delaney King; her great-grandson, Sawyer King; all of Gulfport and numerous nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Shirley Rose!
Shirley was a strong, feisty, and independent lady. She remained that way until the very end. She is now at rest after a long life that touched so many. We miss her so much already but know that she is dancing, laughing and watching over us in heaven.
