Shirley Wallen Prieto, a retired nurse known for her dedicated work in home health, passed away peacefully on June 17 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She was born on February 20, 1961, in California.
Throughout her life, Shirley found joy in gardening, cross-stitching, and most of all, spending time with her beloved grandbabies. Her proudest accomplishments included her sons, her fulfilling nursing career, and achieving 14 years of sobriety.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends, including her loving husband, Daniel Prieto; devoted sons Christopher Bosarge and Dustin Bosarge; stepdaughter Bobbi Schrieber; cherished grandchildren Daniel Schrieber, Odin Schrieber, and Lillian Schrieber; supportive brother Carl 'Gus' Wallen and his partner Jennifer Pettigrew; caring brother Thomas 'Bean' Wallen; and stepmother Marilyn Coleman, as well as many other family and friends.
She is reunited in heaven with her father Leo 'Lee' Wallen and her mother Mary 'Peg' Wallen.
Shirley's kindness, strength, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.

Shirley's life will be celebrated at a 'Flamingle Open House' Gathering on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, in West Jackson County. Memorials in her name can be made to the Leukemia Foundation or Breast Cancer Awareness.
Shirley lived a 'happy colorful life'. In her honor the family has asked those who attend to please wear bright colors or something 'tye dyed'.
