Shirley Montgomery

Shirley Lou Michael Montgomery, age 73, of Gulfport, died om March 9, 2008 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Howard W. Montgomery, and her eldest daughter, Michaele Lauren Montgomery.
Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her four children, William Robert Montgomery and his wife, Maria, Shirley Jeanne Montgomery, Grace M. Montgomery, and Sarah Alisa Montgomery, all of Gulfport; and two brothers, James Dee Michael of Texas and Douglas Michael and his wife, Alice (Poodle), of Lumberton, MS. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Carolyn Craig and family, Carol Hale and family, Adrian and Richard Aaron, Michelle Montgomery, and her number one man, Griffin Montgomery, all of Gulfport.
She was born on September 19, 1934 in Lumberton, MS. As a child, she moved to Prichard, AL and graduated from Vigor High School in 1952. After graduation, she was employed by Bell South as a telephone operator. It was at this time, she met and later married her husband, Howard W. Montgomery. They spent years traveling throughout the United States and Europe with the U.S. Air Force, before retiring in Gulfport in 1972. She later retired from Answer, Inc.
Her family requests that, in celebration of her life, friends share a special moment with their loved ones.
Private services will be held at a later date.
