Shirley Ann Gardner Demo

Shirley Gardner Demo, age 72, of Biloxi, MS, passed away June 10, 2011. She was born January 6, 1939, to Gladys and J.W. Gardner in Flora, MS.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and J.W. Gardner; her stepfather, Price Lewis; former husband, Thomas Demo, Jr.; her brother, ""Doc"" Gardner (Dot); two sisters, Gladys Winans (Bill) and Sarah Winans (Joe).
She is survived by her ""Partner/Companion"" of 25 years, Michael T. Morgan; her son, Thomas M. Demo (Donna); her grandson, John Demo; her sister, Linda Nickle (John); her brother, J.W. Gardner, Jr. (Mavis), many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and last but not least, her beloved cat, ""Ivy"".
Shirley worked as a hostess/cashier at McElroy's Restaurant for many years until it was destroyed by ""Katrina"". She loved making sure that patrons were taken care of upon arrival and at their departure after a delicious meal! For the last 5 years, she worked in the Children's Department at J.C. Penney's which she also enjoyed. Shirley missed her coworkers who had become her good friends and her ""customers"" as well when she was forced to leave these jobs. When she was not working, Shirley loved to shop, especially for the ""bargains""!
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, MS at 10:00am, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's name to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507 or to Odyssey Hospice, 9414 Three Rivers Road, Ste. 3, Gulfport, MS 39503.
