Shirley Ann Blanton

Shirley Ann Blanton, 87, of the Gulf Coast, passed away peacefully Friday, February 23, 2024. Shirley was born March 25, 1936, in Buena Vista, Georgia. She moved to Tampa as a child and later settled on the Gulf Coast in the 1960's.

Shirley dedicated over 25 years of her life to working in retail at Walmart, where she eventually retired. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had a deep passion for Elvis Presley's music. Shirley also cherished her 'grand puppies' and found great joy in their company.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Blanton; her daughter, Debra Windham; her sister, Rosalee O'Dell; and her parents, Theodore and Anna Shores.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Dickson and her husband Stephen Dickson of Vancleave, MS; and two nephews, David O'Dell of Tampa, FL and Timothy O'Dell of Land O Lakes, FL.

Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and the entire staff for the compassion and care given to Shirley while in their care.  

Graveside services will be held at D'Iberville Memorial Park, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Jackson County Human Society will be appreciated.
