Shelley Hyde Bentz

Shelley Hyde Bentz, age 73, of Pass Christian, passed away on December 14, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her father, James L. Hyde; and her mother, Jacqueline Pugh Justice.

Mrs. Bentz is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Henry “Robbie” Bentz, Sr; her children, Lauren Bentz Winbigler (James N), and Robert H. “Bret” Bentz, Jr (Sheena); her grandchildren, Lyla Grace Bentz, Lola Bree Bentz, and Brock Robert Bentz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was a native of New Orleans and has been a longtime resident of Pass Christian. Mrs. Bentz participated in the Junior Olympics as a swimmer and she was a singer in many bands. 

To know Shelley was to love her! She was a bright light and always knew how to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Volunteers of America (adoption agency).

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 9:30 - 11 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  A prayer service will be held at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
