Mrs. Shelby Jean Crum Fischer, age 73, of Long Beach, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011.
Mrs. Fischer was born in Ethel, WV, to William Carlos Crum and Elsie Bryant Crum. She spent the majority of her life as a farmer, and she enjoyed playing Bingo and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Fischer; siblings, David Thompson, June Fitch, Doris Cochran, Edith Stanley, Joann Cain, and Pauline Thompson; and grandson, Brad Fischer.
She is survived by her children, Randy Fischer of Long Beach, Leonard Fischer of Long Beach, Tina Hamblin of Baton Rouge, and Patricia Kidd of Reno, NV; siblings, Jerry Thompson and Sharon Mernard; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held for close friends and family at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 6:30 PM with visitation from 6:00 PM until service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
