Shayna Grisham-Stewart

Shayna Wynell Grisham-Stewart, 44, of Hampton, Virginia passed away July 25, 2022, in Long Beach, Miss.

Shayna was born on September 30, 1977, in Puerto Rico to Larry and Wynell Grisham. With an active-duty Navy father, Shayna spent her childhood living in places such as Sardinia, Italy, Bremerton, Washington, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Shayna graduated from Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach in 1996. She was very proudly the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021. It was shortly after earning her degree that she received her cancer diagnosis.

Shayna had her first son, Ryan, in 1997. Several years later, she married Chris Stewart and they added two more boys to their family, Thomas, and Matthew. Being the tomboy she was, she said it was absolutely meant for her to be a boy mom! She loved her boys beyond measure. Shayna and Chris remarried in June of 2020. Shayna finally got to have the wedding of her dreams with her beloved boys at her side. The family was whole again!

Shayna is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Ryan Arter of Long Beach, Miss.; son, Thomas and fiancé, Ellen of Richmond, Virginia; son, Matthew of Hampton; parents, Wynell Grisham of Long Beach, Miss and father, Larry Grisham and stepmom, Elaine of Sherman, Texas; sister, Tina Martin and her husband, Michael of Pottsboro, Texas; and sister, Amber and her husband, Joseph of Sherman, Texas. Shayna leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family members.

Shayna was preceded in death by her grandparents and cousin.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m.
