Sharon Kaye Ray

Sharon Kaye Ray, age 74, of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Ruth Mize Fuller; father, Arnold Lee Fuller; and brother, Ronald Fuller.

Sharon is survived by her son, David Ray (Rebecca); brothers, Danny and Tony Fuller; sisters in law, Sandra, Susie, and Bobbie Fuller; granddaughters, Amethyst and Faith Ray; nephews, Jonathan and Lee Fuller, and David Balius; nieces, Tanisha Staten and Justine Jones.

Sharon was a native of Muskogee, OK. She spent many of her younger years as a front office manager with Associated Doctors Insurance Company. After numerous years, she retired as the assistant manager of Gulf Mist Apartments. Sharon had a creative and talented mind. She had a love for painting ceramics and did so for decades. She had a talent for decorated cakes while spending time with her friends. She loved playing the organ and singing her gospel hymns and listening to her music. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and had a rejuvenated spirit, even after retirement, watching them and supporting them in all their academic achievements and extracurricular hobbies.

Sharon was a devoted Christian. She was a former member of Fernwood Baptist Church and Coast Community Church. She loved animals, especially dogs. She regularly donated to many charities, including the ASPCA, St. Jude’s, and Boys Town.

A celebration of life service will be held at Coast Community Church on March 17, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
