Sharon Myers Hargraves, age 80, of Diamondhead, passed away on December 28, 2022, in Gulfport, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther R. Myers, Jr, and her mother, Marjorie Barrett Myers.
Survivors include her siblings, Bill Myers (Linda) of Diamondhead, MS, Terri Lynn Blackmon, Alexander City, AL, and Marcia Lynn Myers, Wiesbaden, Germany; a special companion, her Bassett hound “Barney”; a niece, Guiliana; 2 nephews, Timothy and Marco; and numerous cousins and second cousins.
Sharon was a native of Mobile, AL and was a current resident of Diamondhead, MS. She was raised as a USAF “brat” where she lived in 5 countries and attended 10 schools before graduating in Montgomery, AL. Sharon moved to the Lake Martin area in 1976. She was a sales associate and ultimately the owner/broker of Bill Myers Real Estate Agency primarily serving the Lake Martin area until her retirement. She moved to coastal Mississippi in 2019 to be closer to her family.
She was an accomplished artist primarily painting rustic, rural scenes and American Primitive scenes. She also enjoyed doing pet portraits and painting hummingbirds. She was a member of the Bay St. Louis Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank her many friends and relatives for their kind words and prayers during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be made to your local Humane Society.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 141 Hwy 90, Waveland. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 7, 2022, in Hillview Memorial Park, Alexander City, AL.
