Sharon Buntyn

Sharon Buntyn, 78, of Gulfport passed away on September 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Philadelphia, MS to the late Jessie & Lee George.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James “Bob” Robert Buntyn; and brother, Gregory George.

Sharon worked alongside her husband and owned and operated Bob Buntyn Insurance for many years.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Sharon loved decorating for the holidays and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed playing games and reading to her grandchildren.  Sharon loved to read and take rides along the beach.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Karen Apostotopoulos, and Katherine Elizabeth Anderson; grandchildren, Heather Apostotopoulos, and Jessie (Korina) Cervantes; great granddaughters, Jerrica and Kynleigh; siblings, Jeannie George, Anthony (Wanda) George, and Monica Slayton; sister-in-law, Linda George.  Sharon also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
