Sgt. Paul Edward Reed, U.S. Army, Ret, age 63, of Long Beach, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Reed, Jr and Lenora LaRosa Reed; 2 sisters, Ida Reed Gates and Carol Reed Willard; and a brother, Robert L. Reed, III.
He is survived by his fiancé, Cynthia Allred; his children, Jami Reed, Paul Reed, Jr, Sherri (Christopher) Mohrman, and Angela (Scott) Dees; his siblings, Richard (Diane) Reed, Frank (Sue) Reed, George Reed, Thomas Reed, and Jay (Julia) Reed; his grandchildren, Lincoln and Alli Pulliam, Katelyn and Stephanie Fazekas, Tami, Brandon, and Abbi Mohrman, Christopher Webb, and Bailey and Jacob Dees; numerous nieces, nephews, and last but not least, his trusted support dog “Dude”.
Paul was a native of Long Beach and he served honorably in the U.S. Army where he served as a sergeant during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Desert Farewell, Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He had 12 years of active service with the Army and 2 years of service with the MS Army National Guard. While serving, he received the following medals/commendations: Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (x3), National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Driver and Mechanic Award, Air Craft Crewman Badge, Global War on Terrorism expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.
Paul loved hunting, fishing, archery, target shooting, horseback riding, 4 wheeling, and sharing his interests with his kids and grandkids.
The family would like to thank everyone for all of the messages and concern given to them during this difficult time.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 16, 2021, from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
