Sergio Aguilar-Vazquez

Sergio Papi' Aguilar Vazquez, age 57, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Gulfport. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Aguilar Ruiz; and his sister, Maria Isabel Aguilar Vazquez.

Sergio is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jennifer Johnson Aguilar; his mother, Maria Isabel Vazquez Leija; his daughters, Denise and Michelle Moore; his grandchildren, Derek and Serenity Neville; his siblings, Marco Antonio Aguilar Vazquez, Ernesto Aguilar Vazquez, Maria del Rosario Aguilar Vazquez, Josefina Aguilar Vazquez, Jose de Jesus Aguilar Vazquez, Alfredo Aguilar Vazquez, Maria del Pilar Aguilar Vazquez, Fernando Aguilar Vazquez, Manuel Carlos Aguilar Vazquez, Juana Maria Aguilar Vazquez, and Norma Elizabeth Aguilar Vazquez; and his numerous friends and extended family.

Sergio was born on October 7, 1966, in San Luis Potos, Mexico. He worked as a pipefitter in multiple shipyards across the Gulf Coast. He loved his work and was always studying to improve his skills. He had a great love for music, especially the Cumbia. Sergio was a caring, hardworking, family oriented, and generous man who would help anyone in need. A good friend to so many. A devoted husband and loving father and papa. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Jones Park (East of Pavilion) at 2:00 pm. Family and friends will be releasing lanterns at sunset with a bonfire to follow.
