Scofield ""Buggs"" Berthelot, age 83 of Long Beach, passed away on March 18, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Mabelle Berthelot; his daughters, Jean Berthelot and Andrea Woodcock; and his brother, Donald Berthelot.
Mr. Berthelot is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Janice Berthelot, of Long Beach; his son, Scofield Berthelot, Jr.; his sister, Gloria DeLaune; and his grandchildren, Elliott Berthelot and Leslie Woodcock, III.
Buggs was born in Livingston, LA, but was a resident of Long Beach, MS, since 1961. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran. Mr. Berthelot was in the insurance business and retired from the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Long Beach and was a member of Gideon International.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Long Beach with a visitation for family and friends an hour prior to the service.
