Sarilyn Dauro Freeman, age 66, of Hattiesburg, formerly of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Alice Dauro of Long Beach, Mississippi.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Kevin L. Freeman; her children, Khara (Chris) Colbert and Rigel Freeman; her siblings, Kay Dauro, David (Tina) Dauro, Paul (Susan) Dauro, Keith Dauro, and Richard Dauro; her grandchildren, Sadie Ruth Colbert, Catherine Colbert, Evan Freeman, and Griffin Freeman; and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Freeman was a current resident of Hattiesburg and was a native and long time resident of Long Beach where her family had lived for several generations. She obtained a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi USM), and later a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University, Master of Science in Nursing USM, and Postmasters Certification as Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, USM. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital of Gulfport, Nursing Instructor at William Carey University, Nurse Practitioner with Coastal Family Health Clinics, Advanced Nursing Instructor at USM, and retired as the Clinical Coordinator for Nurse Practitioner Program at USM.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, basketry, and traveling. Sarilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was highly respected by her students, patients, and colleagues. She will be sorely missed by all.
