Mrs. Sarah Seay Breland, 85, passed away August 24, 2020, at her home in Gulfport, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Sarah was born April 3, 1935, in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of the late Earl Louis and Ethel Creel Smith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting. She was an avid and accomplished cook. However, her greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with all her family. She retired after 20 years from the Veteran’s Administration in Gulfport, where she was a Licensed Practical Nurse. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband J.C. Seay and her second husband Melvin Breland, Jr. She was also predeceased by her son Ricky Breland and her sister, Sharon Eubank.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon with a Celebration of Life to be held Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Discovery Church, 2601 17th Avenue, Gulfport, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Glenn Molsbee and Reverend Colby Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
Sarah leaves behind to cherish her memory her five daughters, Charlotte Seay Bales, and her husband Robert of Picayune, Rachel Seay McClendon of Gulfport, Sandra Seay Gavagnie and her husband, Alan of Gulfport, Katherine Breland Magnusen and her husband, Ricky of Perkinston, and Cynthia Breland Parker and her husband, Olen of Perkinston; two sons, John Seay and his wife, Jo-Lena and Randy Breland and his wife, Mary Martha both of Gulfport; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Daly of Picayune and Brenda Kahl of Hillsdale; two brothers, Richard Smith of New Orleans, LA, and John Smith of Oxford; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
