Sara Katharene Osborn Dobbs, long time resident of Biloxi, died November 20, 2011. She was born in Crystal Springs, MS on November 5, 1922. Sara worked as an Administrative Secretary in Civil Service and retired from Keesler Air Force Base in 1976.
As a military wife, Sara had the opportunity to live in Italy, Greece, and Morocco. She continued her love of travel by RVing throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. She was an avid reader of history, medicine, and mystery themes. She enjoyed talking about her life and travel experiences. Sara was caring about others, and good-natured, with a wonderful sense of humor.
Sara will be deeply missed by her nieces, caregivers, and all those who loved her and looked forward to seeing her each day.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Percy Osborn and Neil Raeford Dobbs; her son, Stephen Michael Osborn; her parents, Wesley Newton Bruce and Selena Emma Rogers; brothers, Clell Bruce, Jack Bruce, and Tillman Bruce; sisters, Lucille Gardner, Myrtis Campbell, and Dorothy Bruce
Sara is survived by her son, James R. Osborn and his wife Mary Ann Warniment of Biloxi; daughter-in-law, Kay Osborn of Jasper County, MS; step-daughters, Linda Dobbs Daniel of Anacortes, WA and Keren Dobbs Necaise of New Braunfels, TX; and sister, Ruth Waits of Lake Charles, LA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
