Sansy Stanton

February 3, 1980 — September 5, 2008

Sansy Stanton passed from this life on September 5, 2009, at the age of 62 after a long illness.
She was a former Federal Employee in Charleston, South Carolina and Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. In 1979, Sansy moved from Charleston to Long Beach to be with Robert Stanton, who would become her husband on February 3, 1980.
Sansy was a lover of animals and volunteered with WRANPS prior to Hurricane Katrina, picking up and transporting animals in her van, the Critter Gitter. She was known to carry a bag of dog food in her car to feed any strays or lost dogs she encountered in her travels.
She was a member of the Long Beach Church of Christ, where she was re-baptized by her beloved Pastor Mark. Her family is forever grateful to Pastor Mark, his wife, Vicky, and the church members who gave so much of themselves during her illness.
Sansy is survived by her husband, Robert Stanton of Long Beach; her sons, Clay Williamson of Pass Christian and Richard Tassin of Charleston; her granddaughter, Fallon Williamson of Pass Christian; her special friends, Maureen and Annette; as well as her three dogs, Margaret, Gidget, and PJ.
Her family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association, National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004, or visit www.lungusa.org, or to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501, or visit www.hssm.org.
