Samuel "Rick" Smith, age 69, of Long Beach passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Rick graduated from Sparrow's Point High School. He began a career in construction while also pursuing his passion for music. He produced and directed shows where he met his beloved wife, Trish. Traveling extensively, he and Trish sang on stages from coast to coast and abroad.
He was a great husband and father and a very talented person. He will be remembered by all as a remarkable entertainer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Smith and Shirley Jeffries and nephew, David Smith.
He is survived by his wife Trish Smith; daughters Samantha Shay (Alex) Epstein and Sara Shay Smith; son, Paul Docter; nieces, Mallory Savner, Shaunna McCormick, Rebecca Robison, Amanda Smith, Candi Bartolomei, Megan Smith, Amberly Smith, and Tonya Smith; nephews Aaron McMichael, Dan Smith Jr., and Paul Smith Jr.; sisters, Debbie Wilhelm and Judy Smith; brothers, Paul Smith, George "Mickey" Smith, Dan Smith and Jeff Smith; sister-in-law, Mary (Gerald) Savner; and brother-in-law Fred (Yvonne) McMichael.
