Samuel David Padgett, II, age 57, of Ocean Springs, passed away on September 21, 2021.

Sam was born in Santa Maria, CA to Samuel and Shirley Wilson Padgett.  He served in the U. S. Army and retired as Chief from the United States Coast Guard.  Sam had many interests and loved collecting Lionel Trains and Department 56 houses.  He also enjoyed gunsmithing, metal detecting, fishing, and hiking and could find a good sale anywhere while on “treasure hunts”.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Padgett; children, Christa Padgett (and fiancée’, Paul), Andrew Gilman (Casey), Lacie Moore (Chris); sister, Sharon Padgett Podlin; eight grandchildren; and a host of friends and his four beloved fur babies.

A gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., from 12 pm until 1:30 pm.  A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:30 pm at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Jackson Animal Shelter.
