Ruth Elder Guy Vice, age 79, of Helena, died Monday, November 30, 2009 in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Vice was a native of Wayne County and lived most of her life on the coast. She owned and operated Ruth's Flowers and Louis's Drive-In, both in Helena, and after retirement remained a dedicated homemaker and caregiver. She was a longtime and active member of Helena Presbyterian Church and loved helping and doing for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Vice; a son, Greg Vice; her parents, William Columbus and Cellsie Rose Taylor Guy; 4 brothers, J.C. Guy, Roy Guy, Radford Guy, and Pete Guy.
Survivors include her children, Gary Bartlett, Mark (Becky) Vice, Ben (Theresa) Vice, and Amanda Vice; her daughter-in-law: Trisha Vice; 1 brother, Roscoe Guy; 1 sister, Ruby Lee McDonald; 8 grandchildren: Johnathan, Josh, Trey, Ainsley, Gavin, Daniel, Aselyn, and Victoria; 1 great-grandchild, Shayleigh; her best friends, Dot Graff and Maggie Lawler Pryor and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the Helena Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 am in the church sanctuary.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Helena.
