Ruth Herring, age 89, of Gulfport, passed away on the birthdate of her late husband, Doyle Herring, March 15, 2010 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Herring; her parents, W.O. Herrin and Kate Herrin; five sisters; and seven brothers.
She is survived by her children, Doyle Herring, Jr and his wife, Karen, of Ranger, GA, Don Herring and his wife, Charlotte, of Kiln, MS, and Barbara Thompson and her husband, Tom, of Gulfport; a sister, Inez Altmann of Sumrall, MS; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her dear friends, Elizabeth """"Bill"""" Gilbert and Geneva James.
She was a member of the Nugent United Methodist Church. She was employed at the Orange Grove school cafeteria, Wigley's store, and retired from G.C. Murphy Company.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport where family and friends may visit from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
