Ruth Gussow

Ruth Isabel Gussow, age 88, a Biloxi native, died Monday, April 14, 2014, in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
Mrs. Gussow grew up on Lestrade Place, directly behind the Biloxi Lighthouse. She was one of six children of Ira and Corinne Clark, and one of 17 grandchildren of John and Isabel Lestrade.
She met her husband, Milton Gussow, when he was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base during World War II. She became an Air Force wife and traveled with her husband to many states, Okinawa, and Japan. Together, they raised three daughters. After her children were grown, Mrs. Gussow drove a school bus for nearly twenty years in northern Illinois. She was an accomplished seamstress and an enthusiastic gardener.
Mrs. Gussow and her husband enjoyed traveling the depth and breadth of America in their recreational vehicle. More than anything, they enjoyed spending time with their family.
Throughout her life she displayed the highest levels of ethics, kindness, generosity, and loyalty to her dear husband, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Milton; her parents, her sisters: Verna Pates, Edna Fuller, Ursula Giraud, Aline Gaines, and brother Ira Dee Clark. She is survived by her daughters: Carol Koules and husband Ron, Cindy Moldovan and husband Ernie, and Judy Tolosa and husband Carlos; four grandchildren: Amy Meyers, Mary Schafer, Laurie Moldovan, and Rob Tolosa; three great-grandchildren: Hannah Schafer, Alex Schafer, and Ryan Schafer; and sister-in-law Beatrice Bakalish; and numerous cousins and friends.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, followed by a memorial service in celebration of her life.
