Ruth Fulcher, 94 and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, April3, 2008 in Gulfport
A Gulf Coast resident for 65 + years. Mrs. Fulcher (nee Wilkinson) married Noel J. Fulcher of Yazoo City in1935. Moved to Biloxi in 1942. As an expert seamstress, Mrs. Fulcher sewed uniforms for the Army Air Corp soldiers at Keesler Field during World War II. Moved to Gulfport in 1948 and had a successful career as Food Service Manager for the Edgewater Gulf Hotel and Wakulla Springs Hotel, Wakulla Springs, Fla. A second career as Telephone Catalog Sales Supervisor led to retirement from Sears. Over the years of working and raising her family, she enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, crafts and ceramics. She was active in the Eastern Star, Gulfport Chapter.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Noel J. Fulcher, parents Sam and Effie Wilkinson; brothers- Alton Wilkinson, Clifton Wilkinson, William G. Wilkinson, & Clifford Wilkinson; sisters- Loraine Carson, & Lula Mae Goodwin; sons-in-law- Ford Dawson & Don Williams.
Mrs. Fulcher is survived by five children; Frances Powell & husband Robert, Gulfport; Gerri Dawson, Gulfport; Nola Fulcher, Houston, TX.; Walter Fulcher & wife Miriam, Stockbridge, GA and Alma Howard & husband Robert, Rockwall, TX; two sisters, Gladys Ladner, Poplarville, Ms. and Jackie Dischinger, New Braunfels, TX; six grandchildren, Alison Clay & husband David, Long Beach, Elizabeth Powell, Long Beach, Kellie Istvan & husband Mark, Montgomery, AL, Paul Dawson & wife Alicia, Houston, TX, Brian Williams & wife Cindy, Dallas, TX, Emilie Fennell and husband Jack, Austin, TX; twelve great-grandchildren, Melissa Evans & husband Michael, Gulfport; Jeremy & Katie Clay, Long Beach; Mary & Steven Powell, Long Beach; Daniel & Hannah Istvan, Montgomery, AL; Isabella, Juliana, & Genevieve Dawson, Houston, TX, and Sophie Fennell, Austin, TX; two great-great grandchildren, Ethan and Cody Evans, Gulfport.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2008 from 6-8pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
