Ruth H. Collins, age 81 resident of Gulfport, died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Collins was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. She was a master seamstress and homemaker. She made drapes and Mardi Gras costumes and enjoyed cooking for her family. Mrs. Collins was born in Clanton, Alabama.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Collins; daughter, Deborah Collins Brown; grandson, Justin Drew Brown and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Fisher and husband Jim of Diamondhead, Dianne Cole and husband Sonny of Gulfport and Tammy Smith and husband Mike of Gulfport; a brother, James Driver; grandchildren, Jeffery Fisher, of Ft. Lauderdale, Jennifer Hardesty of New Orleans, Chad Cole of Gulfport, Todd, Haley and Maggie Smith all of Gulfport and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 9, 2007 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church. Mass of Chrisitian burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
