Ruth D. Carroll

Ruth D. Carroll, age 80, of Gulfport, died on Sunday, July 19, 2009, in Gulfport. Mrs. Carroll was a lifetime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a member of the Church of Christ. She was appointed as Admiral of the Georgia Navy by Governor Jimmy Carter, who later became President of the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. James, and Manerva Davis James; two sons, Van Dale Todd and Michael J. Todd; four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her three children, Ruth (James) Kirkpatrick of Arizona, Pam Harbin of Gulfport, and Sam Todd of Miami, FL; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild
Private family services will be held at RIEMANN FAMLY FUNERAL HOME, Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport.
