Ruth Ann Wilson, a woman of deep faith in Jesus and full of humor and charm, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2021. She was the daughter of Dennis Carl Hubbard and Myrtle Roach Hubbard and was born in West Virginia on November 21, 1939. She graduated from Sherman High School and went to work for Bell Phone Company. She then met and married William (Bill) Ross Wilson. They were married on June 24, 1960. Bill joined the United States Air Force on January 17, 1962, and she became a proud Air Force wife.
In the years of marriage and raising a family they moved multiple times. She enjoyed the adventure of seeing new places and meeting the challenges of growing in a new community and engaging in the military spouse organizations. The Air Force brought her to Keesler Air Force Base in 1978, it was this final move to Biloxi that she fully devoted herself to community and Bay Vista Baptist Church. She found herself teaching Sunday School Classes, Children’s Ministry, Singing in the Adult Choir, Youth Programs, and Women’s Ministry. She was a faithful follower of Christ and served as he called her. She loved opening her home and serving others.
She had a love for people and always made you feel welcomed. Whether you had just met her or had known her for years, she had the ability to make one feel loved and known. She shared her life with others, and it was a joy to see how that love was given back to her by others. She embodied the characteristics of a Proverb 31 woman, putting others before herself. She shared Christ through her daily life in word and action.
She was loved by those who knew her and she was adored and loved by her family. She grew her faith in the Lord and departed that knowledge to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey David Wilson and wife, Mary Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; her daughter, Nancy Wilson Koon and husband, Richard Koon of Ocean Springs, MS; her son, Christopher Alan Wilson and wife, Kelli Wilson of Vassar, Michigan.
She was the grandmother to Jacob and Matthew Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska, Marina Wilson of Slidell, Louisiana, Lily Wilson of Vassar, Michigan, Stanley Wielgosz (Emily Wielgosz) of Ocean Springs, MS, Wilson Wielgosz (Stephanie Wielgosz) of Ridgeland, MS, and Hannah Wielgosz and her fiancé, Michael Jones of Saucier, MS. She is the great-grandmother (GiGi) to Clara Rose Wielgosz, William Stanley Wielgosz, and two loving twin boys that are due January 7, 2022, Peter Wilson and McCord Brock Wielgosz.
Our hearts are saddened by the earthly passing of our mother, grandmother, GiGi, Aunt, and friend to many. We can confidently know and rejoice that Ruth Ann is resting safely in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Those of us still here know and can only imagine the celebration going on in Heaven as a good and faithful servant was called home.
