Russell J. Moran

Russell J. Moran, 83, of Lizana, Miss born March 21, 1941, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by family. 

 Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Reno and Virginia Moran; his wife, Barbara Moran; his great grandson, Sawyer Scarborough and Grandson in law, David Scarborough; his step children, Larry Young, Kenneth Young, and Tonya Crawford; his son in law, Joseph “foots” Giglio; his brothers; Hollis Moran, Veldan “Bud” Moran, and sister Rita Cuevas. 

 He leaves behind his wife, Mary “Liz” Moran of 32 years; his son, Rusty Moran: his daughters, Vanessa Giglio and Monica(Robbie) Robinson; his grandsons, Chase (Shelbie) Moran and Damion Giglio: his granddaughters, Lacy Scarborough and Adylan Moran; his great granddaughter, Chaseigh Moran: and his great grandsons, Sebastian and Cohen Moran and Sutton Scarborough.

 Russell was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He dedicated his life to his family business, Jackie's, or as many called it Russell’s for over 40 years. He traveled many miles in his 18 wheeler, hauling the next load. When he was home he could be found standing tall in a truckers hat…driving his dump truck or on a tractor. He was a family man that loved his family. When he would stop and slow down he could be found in a boat fishing at the family camp on Jordan River, on a cruise, camping, or snuggled up to a grandchild. Russell was a staple to our community and leaves behind a legacy. 

 As we lay Russell to rest he will take with him the ashes of David and Sawyer Scarborough. Together may they rest in peace. 

A visitation will be held from 10:00am~12:00pm, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulfport with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 12:00pm. Interment will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
