Ruby Jewel Herrin Gaughf, age 91, born in Saucier, MS in 1927, passed away in Gulfport on
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Ernest Gaughf; her beloved parents, Lem Herrin and Hilda (Yates) Herrin; and her precious sister, Katherine Moldrem.
Ruby is survived by her only child, Ollie Sullivan (Bobby); one sweet granddaughter, Kesha Palmer (Lester); and the two delights of her life, her great grandsons, Dexter and Cody Palmer.
Mrs. Ruby spent 40 years doing what she loved, teaching at Head Start. She loved her children, loved watching them learn and tried to provide them with required skills to carry them through kindergarten, elementary, and beyond. She was patient, kind, and born to teach. She retired at the age of 80.
Her greatest love was her family and she was devoted to caring for them. She enjoyed writing music, singing and going to church. She will be sadly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Saucier Missionary Baptist Church, 17391 Angel Road, Saucier, MS, with a visitation for family and friends from 1:30 PM until the services. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
