Ruby Lucille Ellis Arguelles, 48, of Gulfport passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009. She was born November 20, 1960 in Huntington, LA but spent most of her life living along the gulf coast. Known as aÌâÅmamaaÌâ by most that entered her home, Ruby never knew a stranger and was always helping others in need. Her love of cooking, sewing and nurturing truly represented the finest of southern coast hospitality. Many friends may remember her from working in the catering industry for over 15 years at places such as the Holiday Inn and Aramark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Leo Ellis & Lucille Ellis Nash; sisters, Sheila K. Aultman, Juanita Faye Ellis, Rebecca Ann Ellis and Roberta Lee Ellis.
She is survived by one daughter and one son, Angela Arguelles, and Louis Arguelles Jr. (Adrianne); Former husband, Louis Arguelles Sr. (LeeAnna); two brothers, Leo Ellis and Benjamin Ellis; and one sister, Betty Graham; grandchildren, Angelo, Aayzhia, Thomas, Jasmine and Antonio Arguelles; nephews Freddy Garcias, and Charles (Buddy) Graham; and close friends, Barbara Sleeves, and Elizabeth Kommersmith; and her best faithful companion that never left her side, Sugar the Chihuahua. Ruby was an angel long before now; her memory will live on in our hearts.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport where friends may visit from 5:00 PM until service time. Burial will be on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Pine Ridge Gardens, Gulfport.
