Roy Langston, III

Gulfport

Roy E. "Rusty" Langston, III, age 74 of Gulfport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 9, 2021.
He was a native of Gulfport and graduated from Gulfport High School. After graduation, Rusty joined the US Air Force as a teletype repairman and served from 1966 until 1970. During his enlistment, he was recognized for inventing a special relay switch which was officially used by the Air Force. After completing his enlistment, he became a maintenance electrician and until his retirement, worked at several local companies on the coast.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Langston, Jr.; his mother, Lois E. Langston; his son, Roy E. (Skip) Langston IV; his great granddaughter, Mila Charlice White; his sister-in-law, Gloria Hebert; his father-in-law, Scotty Howard; his mother-in-law, Barbara Melton; and his step father-in-law, Everett Melton.
He left behind to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Debra Langston; his daughters, Angela Barnes (Steve) and Amanda Swilley (Leslie); his siblings, Carolyn Culp (George), Sally Munn (Johnnie), and John Richard Langston; his grandchildren, Serena Perry, Jack Perry, Wendy White (Justin), Raven Dawson, and Roy E. (Quint) Langston, V; his great grandchildren, Brayden King and Falyn White; his cherished in-laws, Rhonda Moore (David), Raymond Howard, Donald Howard (Christine), Marie Phelps, Katherine Boyd (Chris), Vicki Byrd (Travis), Elizabeth Melton, Scotty Howard, and Nancy Parker (Mark).; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rusty designed and repaired jewelry and taught many friends how to make jewelry over the years. He had a passion for motorcycles, from his Triumph in the 1970's until his 2019 Harley Trike. His other love was computers, and in fact was self-taught on how to program them, including the original DOS. He was a man of many talents and skills.
He loved his dogs like they were his children and loved being outdoors doing yard work and planting flowers.
He met many friends over the years on his C.B. Radio and used the handle of "Nobody's Perfect". Rusty will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, April 16, 2021, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
