Roy Barron Cuevas

Roy Barron Cuevas, age 59 and a resident of Bay St. Louis, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012, in New Orleans.
Mr. Cuevas was a native and lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He graduated the top of his class at the Police Academy in Pearl and was employed with the Pass Christian Police Department for 6 years. He then went to the Fire Academy in Jackson, where he graduated the top of his class, and went to work as a fireman and paramedic with the Gulfport Fire Department, and retired after 19 years of service. After retirement, Roy was employed with the Beau Rivage Casino as Chief of Security from 1999-2001.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Cuevas and his brothers, Rodney Dewayne Cuevas and Randy Joseph Cuevas.
Mr. Cuevas is survived by his wife, Edna ""Edy"" Trosclair Cuevas of Bay St. Louis; his sons, Rodney Joseph Cuevas of Long Beach and Kyle Thomas Cuevas of St. Petersburg, FL; his daughter, Tehra Louise (Jerry) Garriga of Gulfport; his stepchildren, Curtis Logan (Heather) Trosclair of Ocean Springs, Danielle Rene (Patrick) Herrman of Madsion, AL, and Natalie Nicole (Robert) Brown of D'Iberville; his mother, Margaret Bennett Cuevas of Bay St. Louis; his brother, Ronald (Carol) Cuevas of Bay St. Louis; his sister, Melonie (Paul) Bishop of Long Beach and 8 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 1:00pm at Annunciation Catholic Church (old building), where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bayou CoCo Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the MS Burn Foundation, 161 Pine Ridge Circle, Brandon, MS 39047.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian, is in charge of arrangements.
