Rose E. Nelson age 64 and a resident of Biloxi, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Nelson was a native of Laredo, TX but had been a resident of Biloxi since 1975. She was the owner and operator of Op Shop in Biloxi. She worked with the Girl Scouts for many years, was active in the PTA at Beauvoir Elementary, and was president of the Girls Softball Association. Mrs. Nelson was a founding member of Biloxi First, Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving Biloxi's educational system. She had held many offices, including president of the Keesler AFB Officer's Wives Club. She was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and was a long-time survivor of multiple sclerosis.
Mrs. Nelson was predeceased by her parents; Walter G. and Fannie Vale Million; a daughter: Sondra Jean Nelson; and a brother: Frank Mull.
She is survived by her husband, Robert """"Bob"""" G. Nelson; children: Patricia A. Foil of Eglin AFB, FL, Joanna M. Schofield of Concord, NH, and Jennifer L. Sears of Saucier, MS; sisters: Betty Lee and Judy Jensen; and grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Jordan, and Justice.
Friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 12, 2008, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.
