Rose Marie Mathes

Rose Marie Mathes (Parker Stopka), age 84, of Kiln, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Born January 11, 1939, in Morris, Wisconsin.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Virginia Parker; first husband, Casimir J. Stopka, Jr.; son, David Stopka; daughter, Jane Murray; and her sister, Eileen Parker.

Rose is survived by her husband of 18 years, Bruce E. Mathes, Sr.; brother Ed (Sue) Parker; children, Mark (Elizabeth) Stopka, Judith (Dan) Schlaiss, Diana Hennig, Alice (Steven) Pelikant, Connie Mathes, Carol Wentworth, and Bruce (Stephanie) Mathes; grandchildren, Kimber Axtell, Jessica (Erik) Quinones, William Jelonek, Douglas (Luciana) Morales; Jelonek, Harold (Jenn) Murray III, Patrick (Morgan) Murray, Sharon (Peter Hajduk) Murray, Casey Murray, David Murray, Sophia Murray, Ella Murray, Chelsea (Brett) Meeks, Ashleigh (TJ) Smith, Bruce Mathes III (Alexis Stephens) , Malcolm Wentworth III, and Kelli Wentworth; great-grandchildren, Denver (Michael) Taylor, Austyn (Casey) Taylor, Alexander Quinones, Lorelei Jelonek, Olive Jelonek, Rose Taylor, Arthur Parello and Mackenlee Mathes.

She was a sales associate at Joanne Fabrics, a spray booth operator at Dual Fast Fastener, and a homemaker. She was an avid sewer and crafter and she loved to sing. Rose was also a member of The Red Hat Society and a life member of The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 660 Chapter #1481 in Prospect, IL.
