Ronald “Ronnie” Andrus, age 64, passed away January 28, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Andrus; his father, William “Bill” Andrus; his brothers, Donnie Andrus, Wesley Hammett, and Billy Hammett; his sister, Shirley Robinson; his beloved dog, McGruder; and several special baby angels.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of almost 43 years, Janice Andrus; his children, Thea Hanson (Charles), and Courtnay Bellanger (Wesley); his siblings, Betty Farve (Raymond), Jimmy Hammett (Carol), Buddy Hammett (Marilyn), Ruthie McCaleb, and Linda Bosarge (Alfred); his grandchildren, Blair Andrus, Logan Hanson, Anna Claire Andrus, and Sara Grace Bellanger; his great grandchildren, Rosie Love, Lilleigh Love, and Daisi Goff; other relatives, Hannah Brown, Holly Rettig Bidwell (Ronnie Gregory), Jennifer Woodard (Bartley), whom he lovingly embraced as daughters; Elizabeth and Natalie Clayton, Kaleb and Madison Woodard, whom he lovingly embraced as grandchildren; other family, Honorary brother Jimmy Hancock; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Seminole, AL, however, he spent most of his life in Gulfport, MS. Ronnie attended Gulfport High School and worked at Hammett’s Auto Electric. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife of almost 43 years, Janice. Ronnie and Janice loved cheering on their grandchildren in all their extracurricular activities. He also enjoyed Star Wars, Miami Dolphins football, and the University of Miami Hurricanes football.
We would like to thank our family and friends for their words of encouragement, prayers, and calls over the last three weeks. We would also like to express our gratitude to the staff at Memorial Hospital for taking care of our husband, daddy, poppy, papa; especially Ashley and Julianne “Jules”.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, The American Heart Association, or any Humane Society.
A Star Wars themed Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Biloxi. A funeral service will start at 3:00 pm.
