Ronald “Ronnie” Bonck, 81, of Bay St. Louis formerly of New Orleans. Passed away on September 27, 2023, at Dunbar Senior Living Center. He was born on July 12, 1941, in New Orleans, LA to the late Herman Jr. & Mary Louise Bonck.
Ronnie was a musician and played piano at various establishments throughout New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area. He played with many renowned artists which included: Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash, Creedence Clear Water Revival, Jefferson Star Ship, and many other talented and accomplished performers. Ronnie was also a background actor for many films and was known to work in Hollywood as a double for the actor Omar Sharif. Ronnie moved to California and met his wife Nancy Locke, where they had their only son Josh. They later divorced which led him to move back to the Gulf Coast. On the Gulf Coast, one of his favorite longtime gigs was playing at Chapps Bistro. Ronnie had a charismatic personality that could fill a room with his wit and humor.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Josh Mott. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandson and a host of friends and longtime musicians.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 10:30 am at the Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery (2146 Longfellow Drive, Bay St Louis).
