Martin Anthony Desalvo

Martin Anthony Desalvo Jr., 74, of Bay Saint Louis, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.

Martin was born and raised in New Orleans LA. He moved his family to Harbor Drive in Bay Saint Louis MS, in 1978. Martin had a love for dogs, which led him to open Mississippi K-9 in 1985. He trained many dogs and made many friends through this chapter of his life.

Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rita Barre and his father, Martino Desalvo Sr.; foster dad, Charles Marino who he loved deeply; sisters, Joyce Elliot and Helen Mangipano; brothers, Carl Sherb, Jerry Desalvo, and Terry Desalvo.

 

He is Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Deborah Desalvo. Deborah was the love of his life and by his side to the very end. He is also survived by his children, daughters, Shantel Ulrich and Wanda Brown (Derrek); son, Josh Desalvo (Lori); grandchildren, John Desalvo (Meagan), Paige Crain, Jared Desalvo, Olivia Ulrich, Victoria Simmons, and Isabella Simmons; great grandchildren, Hallie Simmons-Bosch, Nolan Desalvo, Lena Desalvo, Lucas Aiden Doster; siblings, Betty Brady, Brenda Danos, Audrey Dempsey, Mitchell Sherb, and Charlie Desalvo; special family friend, Henry Rayborn; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held June 25th, 2023, at 3 pm at the Longfellow Civic Center 122 Court St. Bay Saint Louis MS. 39520.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
