Ronald Wayne Carter Sr., 63, died on September 2, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mr. Carter was born in Magee on May 21, 1948, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Edgar Carter Sr. and Gladys Inez Davis Carter and five brothers, Aubrey ""Buddy"" Spell, Dwayne Spell, Donald Carter Jr., Michael Carter, and Joe Carter.
Survivors include his sister, Johnnie Opal Geautreaux of Houma, LA; his children, Sheila (Richard) Bachtel, Wayne (Sheri) Carter, Stephanie (Chris) Turner, and David (Amanda) Carter, all of Gulfport; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A special thanks to Azalea Gardens Nursing Center for all their love and care.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 1:00pm unitl 2:00pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:00pm for a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30pm.
